Replacing this coupling will eradicate a common noise from the MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering)
when moving the steering wheel left or right at very low speeds or stationary. This is caused by excess wear.
The noise could be presented as a 'clunk or thud' giving the impression the steering
knuckle / joint is slack.
Placement of this part is as seen in the image above, circled in red.
